apr 14, 1935 - Stresa Front is signed
Description:
The Stresa Front was a shot-lived, and failed, attempt at trying to contain Germany. The former entente powers thought that by signing the pact they could hold Germany at bay. It quickly fell apart, however, after both the Italians invading Ethiopia and warming up to Germany, as well as Britain signing the Anglo-Germany Naval Treaty. This showed that not all nations were prepared to take a hard line against Germany and most likley emboldened them to continue pushing the allies for more and more concessions.
