aug 27, 1928 - Kellogg–Briand Pact is signed

Description:

The Kellogg-Briand Pact was another Faustian bargain in an attempt to preserve peace by "promising" to not go to war but failing to issue real consequences to both those who transgressed the agreement, and to those who failed to act in punishing. This time, the world powers promised to outlaw war, and to not engage in offensive wars. The goal was for it to benefit everyone because no one wants to be in a defensive war, but it didn't stop countries like Japan from invading Manchuria.
