S.L. Rothlapfel's influence spreads to Los Angeles through Sid Grauman. Beginning with the 2100 seat Million Dollar Theater in 1917. Later theaters opened by Grauman such as "The Egyptian"(1922) and "The Metropolitan" (1923) began to adopt more exotic architectural styles and interior decoration to create a more romantic atmosphere for the audiences.
