mar 24, 1765 - Quartering Act
Description:
The Quartering Act was passed by the Parliament in 1765, and required ALL colonies allowed the British army to quarter newly arrived soldiers in colonists' homes. It required the colonies to house British soldiers in barracks provided by the colonies.
Colonists resented the Quartering Act as unjust taxation, as it required colonial legislatures to pay to house the troops. It was disliked by the colonists, as it was a violation upon local authority.
