Description:

With NASA's integrity tarnished by their deception (secretly militarizing space during the Lunacy incident), the American government decided to go for a rebranding and merger with their assets and the assets of their NATO allies' European Space Agency, creating the new organization known as the "Multinational Space Administration" or M.S.A., but this was only the first step in the long process of forming the International Space Administration.

Although the USNA and UNW were still decades away from forming due to existing political rivalries, the concept of an internationally coordinated Space Agency was simply too financially appealing for political differences to dissuade the final holdout nations of Russia and China from joining.

Corporate space agencies would be the last to join, only eventually agreeing as long as their CEO's got a powerful seat on the agency's board of directors, and a subsection of the administration with which they can pursue their own corporate interests.
