jan 1, 2018 - SpaceX Falcon Heavy

Description:

The 2010's saw corporations finally catching up to governments in the fields of space-flight, with SpaceX arguably leading the pack. In 2018, they launched their "Falcon Heavy" rocket, which was the most powerful rocket ever launched by humans at the time, surpassing both the NASA and Soviet rockets of old by a significant margin. It was also, unlike the rockets that preceded it, designed for re-use.

The important part of the event was the successful rocket deployment, but as a fun aside the company's CEO sent up their own personal car as the test payload aboard the rocket, and subsequently sent the car off to drift the solar system forever.
