jun 1, 2101 - A.M.I. leaves
for Mars
Description:
The Artificial Machine Superintelligence known as AMI was transferred aboard an Ares class Spacecraft bound for Mars. Not due to any executive decision or planning by the International Space Administration, (AMI's controllers and patent holders) but because AMI actually ASKED to go. Or perhaps more accurately, demanded and begged to go. This desire for discovery and exploration demonstrated to the world the good that Artificial intelligence can be capable of.
The I.S.A. was reluctant to grant AMI's wish at first, as backups could not be made due to the incredibly difficult and expensive process of making new Quantum supercomputers, but eventually the board of directors voted yes to agree to allow AMI to travel alongside the first humans to ever set foot on Mars with the intention of spending their entire lives there.. Concerns were voiced that A.M.I. would be lost if the Ares spacecraft were to crash or shake too violently during takeoff and landing, but AMI had a clear and an unwavering determination to go regardless.
