8h 19min, aug 26, 2023 y - Attack on DRP-11
Description:
On August 26, 2023, at 8:19 PM, Imperial forces moved forward in a historic attack on DRP-11, and Commander Schrade went in with them. Without even basic air support, tanks, armored vehicles, and infantry on foot poured into the anomaly in a desperate attempt to break the enemy on the other side. Immediately, they found themselves under intense fire, but they pushed forward. Luckily, a structure that looked similar to a citadel was quite literally right in front of them. Schrade knew that if they could break through the defenses they were facing now, that would be it, and he could be forever immortalized as the one who first brought glory to the Neobro Empire in this time of new beginnings. He wanted his victory fast. It didn’t take long for a small but clever strategy to be devised.
If there was something that was quite clear from the start, it was this; Schrade’s forces had tanks, and the enemy did not. Sure, the enemy did have means to destroy the tanks, or do some damage to them, but if you really think about it, if you’re standing in a trench with a small rocket launcher, bullets flying all around you, and all of a sudden you see the barrel of a high-tech heavy battle tank pointed straight at the bridge between your terrified eyes, it’s safe to say you might want to get the hell out of there. If you didn’t, chances are you’d be blasted into pieces. It was an intimidation tactic. Schrade pulled his forces back from his flanks, forming his incursion into more of an arrowhead, and relocated most of his armor up front. When the enemy forces at the entrance of the citadel saw these absurdly overengineered machines roll up to them, they just ran away. They didn’t run backwards into the citadel, but instead they ran to the sides into the wilderness, most likely assuming that their lives would have a better chance of being spared if they went somewhere that the Empire wouldn’t go. That was it. Within a span of just ten minutes from 8:19 PM to 8:29 PM, Schrade had pulled off an earthquake of a victory against DRP-11. Imperial forces burst into the citadel to find nobody there, and the Imperial flag of light blue, cyan, and dark blue from top to bottom, was proudly housed to fly above it, and for all in the surrounding strange landscape to view.
But Schrade wasn’t done there. Unlike DRP-9, DRP-11 didn’t begin to fade right after it was defeated. It remained remarkably stable. Schrade and his forces, still inside the anomaly, wanted to see if they could take their already impressive feat a step further. By now, Abframin and Bellaloken, and of course the entire Royal Imperial Military, including Tavarish and everyone else, had been made aware as to what had just happened, and they were stunned, but incredibly cheerful, however, they weren’t the only ones who were happy about this. Scientists of the IOSA Berimov Detachment were stationed in Fort Bayside doing the scientific part of the Post-Shift Rush, but the reason as to their stay in Region Superbia was in anticipation of something just like this happening. Levvin Berimov himself was there, and with his aspirations to create an interresonantial tunnel, he saw the incredible record breaking readings of DRP-11 and thought that this could be the best chance to reach his goals. Could he turn DRP-11 into a cerasus, along with the Empire? He had the equipment to do so. All the math lined up, but he still wasn’t sure. He decided to have it put on a helicopter and to go and have a look himself.
They analyzed everything from the anomaly’s potency to the stars in its night sky. Unfortunately for Berimov, though the equipment ran with great success, he wasn’t really concretely convinced in DRP-11’s ability to be a cerasus. The Empire was ready, and he knew all he had to do was overcome the foreign barrier, but looking at what he saw and what the general situation was, he was still unsure. It was the fast versus slow debate again. As the anomaly’s signature gradually faded, the Berimov Detachment withdrew, soon followed by Commander Schrade and his forces at 11:11 PM, and soon the anomaly faded completely. Their victories were not unlimited that night. They had reached a peak in their morale, but it had to cap off somewhere.
