Description:

After returning to life during the events of Final Crisis, Barry Allen, The Flash, had a fresh lease on life. However, the events of the Blackest Night and the subsequent Brightest Day saw the resurrection of various DC heroes and villains, one of which was Barry's arch-nemesis, Eobard Thawn, the Reverse-Flash. During an encounter with Barry, Thawn revealed to him the nature of his mother's death and how it was he who murdered her in a sick way of getting back at Allen. Wracked with grief and rage, Barry travels back in time to prevent his mother's murder from ever taking place. However, in doing this, he accidentally breaks the timeline and creates a new world known as Flashpoint, where various events and characters have wildly altered histories. Barry eventually attempts to set the timeline back to normal with the help of Thomas Wayne, Flashpoint's Batman, but through unknown forces, the timeline is instead rebooted into The New 52, where entire decades of history are missing from the timeline and Prime Earth, also called Earth-0, replaces New Earth as the center of the Multiverse.
