Description:

As Darkseid initiates his takeover of Earth, the heroes of Earth struggle to fight off the Anti-Life-possessed armies comprised of former friends and enemies, while Superman must travel across the Multiverse to build a strike force capable of defeating Mandrakk, the Dark Monitor. Darkseid is eventually defeated and the Anti-Life Virus is cured, at the cost of Batman being sent back in time to the Stone Age, while Superman and his Multiversal strike force defeat Mandrakk, saving the Monitor Sphere and allowing the Monitors to continue keeping a watchful eye over the Multiverse. During the beginning of this event, Barry Allen, The Flash before Wally West, returned to life after outrunning Darkseid's Black Racer, an embodiment of death in the DC Universe. This would eventually allow for the event known as Flashpoint to come to pass, and the next subsequent era of the DC Universe beginning.
