Description:

李翰祥在“银鸡案”后试图不再拍摄风月片，转向历史宫闱巨片的拍摄。该片云集邵氏明星，在邵氏制片厂打造了超级布景，还原北京皇宫内的景色，最终收获平平，而同时拍摄的《瀛台泣血》市场表现很差。李翰祥抱憾而不得不回去拍摄风月片。该片从张彻的长弓影业借来了狄龙与姜大卫，而正是这次合作成为了二人反目的开始。
