Opposed/Support Americanization. SD Settlement Houses became a charitable college for women then a neighborhood house taught by Mexican immigrants. This created a community within a town that was being colonized with organizations that had nothing to do with the character that everyone related to or felt a part of. In a sense, this was like an Ethnic Studies course near Mexico.N.K.
