Description:

Terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon resulted in a global "War on Terror". The attacks were carried out by terrorists linked to al Qaeda, an Islamic extremist group founded by Osama bin Laden. The hijackers commandeered four commercial passenger airplanes and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. The attacks resulted in significant changes in U.S. domestic and foreign policies.
