经历大罢工的停滞，香港制片公司纷纷迁走，电影行业百废待兴，在1928年，黎北海创立的香港影片公司代表着香港电影工业的重建。黎北海还建立了香港第一个片厂——香港制片厂，并且开办了专门的演员培训所，培养演艺人才。
