jan 1, 1896 - The dodo I Hilaire Belloc
Description:
FUCKING NURSERY RHYTHM FUCK YOU WSC
His Catholic faith had a strong effect on his works. Belloc's writings encompassed religious poetry and comic verse for children.
The Dodo is taken from Belloc’s book “The Bad Child's Book of Beasts”. It’s a very simple, 2-verse poem, written in a nursery rhythm manner. It talks about the extinction of the Dodo bird, of memories walking its native ground and how it doesn’t make noise anymore, the only place to find its remains is the museum. The Dodo could be a metaphor for many extinct cultures, how we can only find them in records, but don’t hear and see them anymore.
