Description:

The story begins as a Homo Neandarthal Boy arrives in the present day by a company named Stasis Inc, and they put him in the care of a nurse named Edith Fellowes, who is first unaware of the boy’s Neanderthal nature. She is at first disgusted by his looks, but slowly becomes a mother figure to him, shocked to realize, as the story goes, he is far more intelligent than the scientists realize. She names him Timmy and decides to give him optimal upbringing so he can integrate into society. In the outside world, people call him ape-boy. The researchers are uneasy with Edith’s affection for Timmy, since he was to be treated as an experiment. When they want to move on to the next project, a peasant from the medieval times, and send timmy back, Edith opposes, knowing he got too used to the modern world’s comforts and won't survive there. The researchers accidentally send them both to the past, irreversibly when she tries to sneak out of the building with Timmy. It ends with Edith travelling back in time with the child (Timmie) but the original ending was Timmie staying in the future and by that preventing the entire evolution of humanity, wiping out modern civilization.
