and an arguable 6th march was constructed from his sketches posthumously (after his death), published in 1956 and in 2005-2006. The title is taken from Shakespeare’s Othello, Act III, Scene 3: “Pride, pomp, and circumstance of glorious war!”. Today it is also known as The Graduation March and is played at most high school and college graduation ceremonies in the US (It was also used in pop culture).
