jan 1, 2017 - Backyard Guernica | Adad Hannah
Description:
Adad Hannah (born 1971) is an artist (There is literally no more relevant information about him I can find, but he spent his childhood in Israel).
Backyard Guernica is a recreation of the piece with materials of protest signs: cardboard, foam, wood and home paint in a backyard in South America. It is the first stage of a long term project of re-staging and re-contextualizing the original work, beginning after Trump’s election in 2016. Working with collaborators in Augusta, Georgia, the creation comes to life in a video the length of a minute, with the people holding the pieces not doing so completely still, passively animated. The piece explores the limit between a motionless painting and a moving forest.
