jan 1, 2022 - Invasion of Ukraine | Andres Valencia
Description:
Andres Valencia is a 10 years old abstract painter. He’s had a solo showcase at Art Miami, a one-person show at New York gallery Chase Contemporary, and he's sold his pieces totaling over $100,000. He got into art through his parents Elsa and Lupe who are art collectors and at age 6 got Berne Chase as his personal manager. The painting was made shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, and is inspired by Pablo Picasso’ Guernica. Prints of it have been sold since September to raise money for the Klitschko Foundation, an organization that provides humanitarian aid to the people in Ukraine. The painting expresses Valencia’s emotions after hearing about the invasion.
