Description:
French Scientist Joseph Nicéphore exposed a bitumen-coated plate in a camera obscura (a darkened room with a small hole or lens at one side through which an image is projected onto a wall or table opposite the hole) for several hours and captured an image that would have great effects. It was titled View From the Window at Le Gras, and is believed to be the first photo ever captured
