Wilson's 14 points were made public on January 8, 1918, they represented Wilson's peace formula of "peace without victory." The points included: banning secret treaties, Freedom of the seas, free trade, reduction of arms, self determination, adjustments to colonial claims in the interest of native peoples and the center piece League of Nations. Wilson's vision was to create an international organization to promote world peace by guaranteeing a seat at the bargaining table for and the territorial integrity of all nations. Woodrow Wilson was apparently one war ahead of his time.
