Description:
John was imprisoned for speaking out against Herod Antipas, tetrarch of Galilee, for marrying Herodias, the ex-wife of his brother Philip.
Later, Herodias' daughter pleases the king with her dancing, and offers her any gift she desires. After consulting with Herodias, the daughter returns asking for John to be beheaded.
In the account from Josephus, the daughter's name is Salome.
