Description:
The Korean war began when North Korea invaded South Korea. Hostility between the two sides spilled over into open warfare, where the North easily overpowered the South. The UN aided the South Koreans and drove the North Koreans to the original border, and then further. However the Chinese joined the North and fought with tanks supplied by the Soviet Union.
