Description:

Claude Le Blanc made the Marechaussee into a national system as retracted wars brought poverty and beggars to the countryside. Each company was led by a prevot-general and 2-4 lieutenants. Company men were old soldiers, originally needing 16 years but this eventually lowered to 8.
