- It was a peaceful protest
- However, the Tsar had left the Winter Palace days earlier
- Nicholas' troops opened fire on the protesters
- 200 killed
- 800 wounded
Consequences:
- Ended the 'Little Father' role the Tsar had over the Russian people
- Caused protests - by February 1905, 400,000 workers were on strike
