nov 28, 1995 - Started programs to help low-income pet owners
Description:
Tony La Russa has always been big on helping both humans and animals, and he though that supporting low-income pet owners was their next step. For the La Russa's and the foundation as a whole, this seemed like the right ethical choice. But some people were against it saying that the animals should be put in shelters, or given to new people since their current owners can't take care of them. The ARF still believed that they were doing the right thing, and so were many other supporters of this program. This obviously made an enormously positive impace on the lives of the low-income owners and their pets, as this program allowed them to stay with eachother.
