oct 29, 1956 - Suez Crisis
Description:
Israeli forces pushed into Egypt to the Suez Canal after Egypt’s president Gamal Abdel Nasser nationalized the canal in July that year, starting the Suez Crisis. The Israelis were later joined by the French and British forces, which brought the Soviet Union into the conflict, and hurt their relationships with the United States. As result the British, French and Israeli governments took out their troops in late 1956 and early 1957.
