nov 8, 1743 - Antoine Lavoisier
Description:
Lavoisier's main contribution to the theory of the atom was from his experiments dealing with how matter was conserved and mass didn't change in a chemical reaction. We now know that the reason mass was conserved was because atoms cannot be destroyed or created, therefore, matter/mass stays the same. His discoveries furthered understanding of how atoms worked.
