On November 22, John F. Kennedy was campaigning through Dallas, Texas with the first lady and Governor John Connally and his wife driving in a car. Lyndon B. Johnson and his wife were in a separate car. John F. Kennedy was scheduled to speak at a luncheon. Crowds of people lined the streets of people waving at the Kennedys and the fellow people in the car. All of a sudden as it was passing the Texas School Book Depository, gunfire suddenly reverberated down the street. Bullets were fired into the President's neck and he slouched over onto the first lady. The governor of Texas was also shot in his back. The car drove off to Parkland Memorial Hospital. Nothing could be done though. The President of the United States of America was pronounced as dead at 1:00 PM. Although he was seriously wounded, Governor John Connally would eventually recover.Added to timeline:
