The Bosnian Genocide was an event that involved the killing of 8,000 Bosnian muslim men and boys. This also included the mass expulsion of another 25,000-30,000 Bosniak civilians by VRS units under the command of general Ratko Mladic. By seeking to eliminate part of the Bosnian muslims the Bosnian Serb forces committed genocide. They targeted the extinction of 40,000 Bosnian muslims living in srebrenica. They stripped all the muslims living there of belongings and identification and killed some based on who they were. The ethnic cleansing campaign included extermination, unlawful confinement, mass rape, sexual assault, plunder, torture, destruction of private property and public property, and inhumane treating of civilians; The acts have been found guilty acts of genocide. Some people however thought that they were not guilty of genocide because they only killed the men and spared most of the women and children. In 2005 the US court found the Bosnian Serbs guilty of genocide.
