jan 1, 1215 - Magna Carta

Description:

The Magna Carta was the first document showcasing that a King was not above the law. It was agreed to by King John of England at Runnymede, and aimed to prevent leaders from exploitation of power. In the Magna Carta, there were clauses towards free church, reforming justice and controlling royal official behaviour. Most importantly, it began to give people the power and start to break the strict societal system.
