"My Bondage and My Freedom" was published by Frederick Douglass.Cause: Frederick wrote his novels to show people what it was truly like to be a slave. He did this hoping that in showing others what slavery was like, he would gain more supporters for the slavery abolition.
Effect: Douglass accomplished just what he set out to do. He gained the support for abolition through his writings.
