At roughly 9:02 am a bomb exploded in a Ryder truck in front of the north entrance of Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma. The bomb killed 168 people and injured 850. 30 children lost both of their parents and at least 219 children lost one parent, 462 people were left homeless and over 7 thousand people lost their workplace. The bomb was set off by Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. In 2001 Timothy McVeigh was executed for his actions, and Terry Nichols was sentenced to life in prison after he was charged wiwth 161 counts of first degree murder and was givin 161 consecutive life terms in prison. After the deadly explosion, a memorial was made in honor of the people who lost their lives. They said they set off the bomb due to their dislike for the federal government and was upset with the way the govenment handled the Ruby Ridge incident and they timed their attack to line up with the second annversary of the fire.
