Description:

1937年日本占领上海后，川喜多长政来到上海管理电影制作，1939年他成立”中华电影公司“，将张善琨拉进来开始探索避免由日本人主导的电影制作，主张提供胶片给中国人，让他们来完成。

该片是由中华电影公司和满映联合完成，由李香兰主演的古装片。以鸦片战争为背景，表现林则徐英勇对抗英国人的故事。
