James the Second was a pro cathol in Ireland James appointed the Catholic Earl of personnel as lieutenant (high rank) general of the king's army in Ireland this was his course met by Irish Catholics ireland liked James as they both had one thing in common they were heavily Catholic James appointed Catholic judges to control Irish corporation meetings especially keeping an eye on the army you also made it prominent that he wanted every future Irish government to be Catholic he also asked Protestants in Ireland to give up 50% of their lands automatically
