James was looked at as a true son of his father (Charles I) as James II was Catholic and wanted to push Catholicism and the religion towards the country also James is seen to be politically active because of his brother, James was able to be put on the throne a very powerful position James the second was naturally authorities and was unflexible like his father Charles I he regarded all opposite opinions to be seen as treason not only this but another way people looked at James as a bad ruler from the start was that he was openly Catholic which is not the best thing to do in an Anglican / protestant nation
