Description:
A political agreement between the United States and Spain that gave the United States control over Florida.
Background: The US wanted Florida because slaves escaped there and Seminole Natives were raiding the US from Florida.
President Monroe sent A. Jackson to Florida w/ orders to only attack Seminole Natives, but Jackson attacked aiding Spanards as well. Spain offered to give up Florida if the US promised to leave Spanish Texas alone. The US agrees, but turns out to be a back-stabbing traitor later.
