Description:
The Instrument of Government was a constitutional document it established a new system of government in England following the dissolution of the Rump Parliament and the failure of Barebone's Parliament.
+ It introduced the role of protectorate when resulted in Cronwell being the lord protectorate in England (in 1653)
+ it introduced the Parliament of the Commonwealth of England, which was made up of a single chamber of 400 members. The Parliament had the power to pass legislation, but it would finally have to be agreed on by Cromwell
+ as a whole the new instrument of government was a new way of thinking it was against the old idea of monarchy and aristocracy it had a new written idea and a new law that could be fixed this idea run until 1659 when it was replaced by the humble petition.
