On Wednesday, April 18, 1906, At 5:12 in the morning, an earthquake struck the Bay area with a magnitude of 7.9 scale. The earthquake devastated the city of San Francisco with a three-day fire that consumed thousands of unreinforced brick buildings and houses that were poorly prepared for the incidents. At the time, the population of San Francisco was about 40,000, and 25,000 people became homeless. The casualties reported going for hundreds.
