jun 15, 2012 - DACA (Deferred Action for Child Arrivals)
Description:
DACA, or Deferred Action for Child Arrivals, is a United States immigration policy that allows for a small group of undocumented people who arrived in the United States as children, to request temporary protection from deportation and to be eligible for work permits. In order to be eligible for DACA, individuals had to have arrived before June 15, 2012, and must have had no previous criminal record. Recently, the Biden Administration has proposed a bill that would provide a pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients, called the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021, including provisions that would allow them to become permanent residents and eventually citizens.
