nov 1, 1994 - Prop 187
Description:
The proposition was commercialized as a measure to "save the state". According to the prop in order to accomplish such a goal in California it would deny access to public services to undocumented residents: this included healthcare and education. California viewed the immigrants as a burden and painted them as the root of all of California's problems. There was also a requirement from officials to report undocumented immigrants. This created immense fear and feeling of insecurity in already struggling families and especially in children.
