During the 1960s, the Mission District became known as the epicenter of political activism as well as community mobilization. Oftentimes, Dolores Park would be the place were marches as well as protest would be held. For example, one of the marches/protests that was held in Dolores Park was in support of the United Farm Workers back in 1968 as seen in the picture.
