dec 31, 1930 - Shift in Demographic
Description:
The early population of the Mission District was first constructed by Irish and European immigrants however, there has been records as early as 1931 of Latinxs, mainly of Mexican background, moving into the Mission district indicating a shift in demographic. A shift that will later become a turning point after WWII when Irish and European families moved out of the Mission and Latinx and Central American immigrants started to migrate into the Mission District. This shift would later transform the demographic of the area to become the heart of the Latinx population in San Francisco.
