Goals: Try and keep Amber stable and focussed so as to facilitate judgment and thought through decision making

Current medications:
Gabapentin 300mg every 4 to 6 hours
Prodigal 200mg twice daily
Neurtonin 1200mg at betime
Melatonin 20mg
Xanax 1mg (Amber sometimes cuts these in half (.5mg) unless she is extremely anxious. Discussed how swiftly Xanax can become addictive and cautioned her to take as little as possible understanding that is a very stressful time for her.

I [Psychologist] haven’t seen Amber since march 16 - shortly before news broke she texted me that she had ;finally filed for divorce’. From early on Amber has known that [JD] he an unsafe and unhealthy relationship. This final breach has been a long time coming.

During these months that Amber has been in therapy we have picked through the permanent and [statomatic] unhealthily elements in her relationship with JD - his controlling nature, jealousy and suspiciousness, addiction to drugs and alcohol and violent and indulgent temper. Her finally acknowledging the toxicity is a healthy move on her part despite all the storm and [stress] that has accompanied the filing.

I’m not convinced Amber realised how much she is in need of being in treatment. Her call to me only followed her meeting with Dr Kipper. Kipper called me and indicated he would terminate his treatment of Amber unless she was involved in therapy (continues to sign for her meds = being in therapy someone). That may be motivating enough to get her here but it will not be sufficient over time.

Amber arrived today surrounded by an entourage of paparazzi. Had to close the gate. Subsequent to out session I have received calls from the media that I have no returned nor intend to. Amber is now in full crisis mode and has not yet had the emotional space to process what has happened. She is surrounded by a number of lawyers and is faced with making some serious decisions i.e. does she opt to file a domestic violence complaint against JD. She feels demoralised by the story spun by the media - JD victimised by cold gold digger.

Tried to help her form upcoming decisions that would be healthy for her. Despite all, there is still [ambition/guilt] in her [relative/real] feelings toward JD. Discussed at length. Still difficult for her to let go with finality. Am encouraging her to do so.
