As the Soviet Troops approach the SS begin a final evacuation of the prisoners in Auschwitz. 60,000 prisoners were forced to march west from the Auschwitz camp. They had to march 55km and prisoners suffered from exposure, cold weather and starvation on these marches. The Nazi’s shot anyone who collapsed, fell behind or became physically unable to continue.Added to timeline:
