The German forces intended to liquidate the remaining inhabitants of the Warsaw ghetto. Most of the inhabitants of the ghetto had gone into hiding and as the Germans tried to liquidate the ghetto they started fighting back the Germans with handmade guns and grenades that sometimes failed to work.
