jan 1, 1763 - James Watt creates an efficient Steam Engine

Description:

In 1763, James Watt creates an improved steam engine with double the energy efficiency of the previous Newcomen engine. It was manufactured sporadically from 1763 to 1775. It was a key point in the industrial revolution and was the first model of steam engines to adopt a separate condenser. This was one of the most revolutionary changes in the updated design, by keeping the condenser separate, it could cool and condense steam without cooling the pistons or cylinder walls. Its rotary motion also helped it become even more efficient. The engine was co-created in England by Matthew Boulton who partnered with Watt to produce this machine.
