nov 7, 1973 - War Powers Act
Description:
The War Powers Act was a law that was signed around right after the war ended. This act was needed to become a law because of what happened when the U.S. entered the Vietnam War. President Johnson was given full control to do whatever he felt was necessary action against Vietnam, which led to us entering the war. This law was created because Congress felt that too much power was in the hands of the president. This law directly states that the President must intervene with Congress before deciding to enter a war.
