George Balurock's baptism by Conrad Grebel is commonly referred to Birth of the Anabaptist Movement. Part of the Radical Reformation, Anabaptists claimed the Protestant reformers had not gone far enough. They embraced further reforms, including adult baptism, voluntary church membership, separation of Church and State, nonresistance. Anabaptists were persecuted by both Catholics and Protestants for their radical beliefs.
