Description:
Sugarcane was first used in Hawaii in 600 when the first Polynesian settlers came to inhabit the island. It was grown and used as medicine and food. Hawaiians would chew sugarcane since it was sweet and preserved their teeth. They also used sugarcane to make taro root taste sweeter and better to eat.
